Susan what is a 12 hour drone? My twisted mind tells me it is an ebow on a string reverberating for 12 hours, but surely I am in error. Thanks, always open for something new. _________________ '70 D10 Black fatback Emmons PP, Hilton VP, BJS bars, Boss GE-7 for Dobro effect, Zoom MS50G, Flamma Reverb, Planet Wave cables, Quilter 202 Toneblock, Telonics 15” speaker.

Thanks, Bob. Big Ears is quite a . . . big festival, and they take creative music pretty seriously. A lot of heavyweight musicians perform there (along with people like me there for the ride) and this year they are incorporating the indigenous Appalachian music into the festival programming.
Hi Larry. The 12-hour Drone. When they first asked me to take part, I thought, you want me to play one note from midnight until noon? But the promoter explained that there were 24 musicians each taking a half hour shift, and I don't think you have to play a drone (though for thirty minutes, I think a drone would be fascinating - one note, sustained or repeated, if played correctly, can go into some pretty fascinating places over a long time. I'm not sure what I'll do; I guess I'll figure that out when I get there. _________________ www.susanalcorn.net
