Spotted this for sale. An 80’s era 75 watt Fender with two 6L6 power tubes and three preamp tubes with special design 15 inch speaker.

Seems like it would be good for a lower powered tube steel amp. Wasn’t aware of this model.

Had one. Fender trying to be Boogie. Aimed at the high gain crowd, but I remember the cleans as being pretty good, sold it before I had a steel, so I can't address that specifically.

Really heavy.

A friend left one at my house for a while, I thought the cleans were pretty good.
He turned it into a better 6 string amp, (his words), and (I think) ruined the clean Fender tones.

Len...I had one in the mid 80's for a few years and used it in a blues band for guitars..it wasn't as good as my Music Man amps for steel and it was very heavy..traded it away and never missed it..

Had one as well,, Good, but very heavy.. It does have the "Fender sound", but is NOT as sweet as a Silverface.. At that price you would be better of with a SF showman head... bob

I have a Fender 75, and yes, it doesn't often come out to gigs due to the weight. For the price I paid It's a very decent, loud, point-to-point wired Fender workhorse (with the right tubes in it). You can get them a good deal cheaper than $599 - I'd say the comparative affordability of these is key.

For reference here's a live-in-the-studio recording of my Sho-Bud through the 75 combo with a 15" Sica Neo (which sounds very close to the original blue label speaker). https://soundcloud.com/eastlonesomedrifters/streets-of-baltimore-glaser-brothers-cover

Thanks Chris Very Happy

I don't want to make any extravagant claims about these amps but you can still get them cheaply and get a good old school Fender tone out of them.
