Mike,
I don't consider myself a "guru" but I'll share what little I know. The EON is wound with the same wire as the George L's E-66. The E-66 has a steel blade, and the EON has an iron blade and is supposed to have a "warmer" sound. My friend and I compared the E-66 in his Carter to the EON in my Carter through a Nashville 112. We could not hear any difference. They are both bright pickups. I prefer the George L's 12-1 in my 12 string universal. They use slightly heavier wire on that pickup and it is wound around an iron blade also. It still has lots of highs, but in my opinion, a little more bottom end. Hope this helps.

I have an Eon in my 12 string uni. I chose it after listening to some comparison recordings which made it sound less wild than the E66. I'm happy with it - clear highs and adequate lows.

Forumite Bill Ferguson is an authorized George L Dealer. He could probably answer any and all of your George L questions. Very Happy

Gary Morse plays Desert Rose guitars and has some interesting info about the GL-EON pu's on one of his videos on YouTube.
