Played a gig last night with a drummer I consider a top notch player, Doug Belote.

I played with the opening act, and then with him and the headliner.

He commented " Man, that amp really cuts through, you could hear it really well through the crowd.'

Not the kind of comment I usually hear from a drummer, and I really respect this guys ear. He`s got major studio cred, and plays with some monster players.

You never really know what your rig sounds like out front,in a packed bar room, with nothing miked.

Im sure a lot of amps could have done this gig well, but this amp is really special. Im really happy with it.

Enjoy your hollidays !

Which model do you have Steve? I have the TCA 500B and I absolutely love it too. I used it for an outdoor gig in the summer and it felt like people where really hearing me for the first time. The sound guy was really impressed too. I was getting some spontaneous applause after my solos...which hasn't happened too much before. It's a heck of an amp.

Bill,
I have the same model as you, with the 15" speaker. Infinity through Telonics pickups and Telonics volume pedal.

Just one of those nights where you feel your sound is really finding a nice sonic space in the mix, and the people were relating to the music.

Hi Guys, I've only had my amp a couple of weeks, and the first gig I did with it my "better half" said, "That new amp sounds great!".
For her to compliment me like that, it's got to be good.
Seriously, it's by far the best amp I've ever played through. And it goes without saying, by far the lightest.
Zum D10 into TELONICS TCA-500C Mini 12 Combo & FP-100 Pedal.
All the best of the Season to Dave, Sophie and all the crew at TELONICS.
Cheers, Murray. 🇦🇺

My Mullen G2 into a Telonics FP-100 pedal and a TCA-500B with a 12" speaker gets rave reviews for tone on a regular basis. You can't beat their products or customer service.

I might add last night was the first gig where I needed to play with a greater than usual level of stage volume.

I don't care for loud acts, but this was Unmiked into a packed house. It was louder than usual, but not too loud.

I'm guessing playing at a higher volume featured the amps ability to cut through the mix, more so than at a moderate stage volume.

I'd also like to mention most sound men love the direct out on the amp. I've always preferred to mic the amp, but this Telonics sounds great going direct.

I'm very interested in one of these. Question is, what speaker to go for? Many favour 15" but by no means all. I play a 12-string so maybe that decides it.

My 12” handles the 10th strong lower on C6 with no problem.

I like the looks of a 15" speaker and that decided it for me. The 12" speaker has many happy users and it would take the already low weight down a bit more and make the amp even more compact to go with the 12" version. Depending on your preference of rack vs. stomp box effects you can reduce the amp's weight and size even more. Lots of options and all good!

Looks like a lot of dials to twist, especially on the bandstand. I think I'll stick with my Silverfaces.

Actually, once you find your tone, the blend knob is about all you'll need to adjust from stage to stage.

This amp is very light weight and has some features that I like. Super high quality amp.

As far as effects are concerned, all I need is a little gentle compression and a plate-type reverb with a delay which can be made to repeat. At present I use a couple of stomp boxes but I assume the Lexicon can do all that with better quality.

I like a little reverb and delay and use the tap tempo on the delay is nice.

Ken, I just got my hands on a used rig same as yours. I'm knocked out by the quality. The built-in reverb is so good I haven't even tried the Lexicon yet! Many hours of fun to come...

It may look like a lot of knobs to twist on the bandstand, but with all those features, the knobs you actually twist on the average gig isnt that different from your silver face.

Mine is mostly throw and go. It’s not that complex once you get familiar with it, and Dave Beatty does an unbelievable job of making you understand how to make it simple.

In addition, the manuals for the amp and both processors are the most useful, user friendly, and steel specific manuals I’ve seen. Really a great help.

I’m not a techie, but with that level of support, along with the cool presets if you use one of the processors, it’s actually simple, even if it looks complex.

True, the manuals are up to the same standard as the gear itself. And I can already see how most of the knobs are to set once and leave alone.

Very happy user here too. I like it just as much for clean electric guitar as pedal steel. The power and definition of the strings is amazing. It's got me writing and playing a lot more clean tone material when it's otherwise very tempting to dwell in a high or mid gain landscape.

I’ve never had a better ( and especially, more consistent) tone than I have with my Mini 12” combo and volume pedal. I don’t leave home without it!
