Like an idiot I posted this on the pedal steel page.
Should use my reading glasses.
Sleepwalk Lyrics, Who knew? Maybe everybody but me!
Was reading a post by Basil and saw the article about Santo and Johnny and that song.
Was there I learned there were words to it written by their mother and sister.
Anyway looked it up on youtube and found this version.
I'll link it here for any others who never knew!

I've heard a bridge that went 'Oh darlin', now that you're gone / I don't know what I'll do.' There must be other versions.
This one:
I don't know. It's not poetry, I think it's aftermarket. There are some disputed chords here as well. |

Here's another for you Andy, if you parley vous:
Betsy Brye's version was contemporaneous with the Farinas, but I think this one is later in the 60s somewhere?

When I looked it up on line the version I found was not the same in all places. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

Bon Jour Andy. I listened to Mich Drumm's French version and it brought back a lot of memories. Sleep Walk was popular in the USA when I was in High School. In 1962-64 I was stationed in France, US Army. Used to hear Mich's version on the streets of Chateauroux and Nantes when on our days off.
Great old song. |

I was in the Army in Germany for a few months in 1965 before they sent me to Viet Nam for two tours. Still I never even knew there was a vocal version of this song until just a few days ago....
I see your from WV, My brother used to live between Shepards Town and Harpers Ferry overlooking the Potomac river a few years ago.
I even spend a cold winter across the river in Burkittisville, MD.
Just like Germany it was too cold for me.... _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html
