Another way to get it out (if it's loose) is to get a small electric engraving pen (quite cheap on ebay), a method I have used several times on alternator housings.
The vibrations of the engraver combined with 'whittling' the broken stud in a counterclockwise direction sometimes gets the stud out. |

Bob...If you have never did this removal procedure...trust me, leave it to a professional machinist that knows what he's doing.
