The ‘76 convention was held at the Chase Park Plaza hotel. This was my first convention I attended and being a player from the great white North in the boonies the event blew me away, to say the least. We arrived early around Wednesday and I got a chance to hang with Scotty in his office, playing tapes of obscure Emmons and Chalker tunes. Boy was I lucky! We also bar hopped checking out Wally Murphy and a few others. It was one of the highlights of my musical life.

Thanks for putting this back on the radar. I downloaded it into my phone yesterday and listened to the whole thing driving home from a NYE gig my band had in Yuma,AZ. It's all great, but the Emmons and Chalker stuff is really inspiring. BTW, track 30 is the fiddle tune Devil's Dream, not Soldier's Joy.
