Loved the way this was played by Jeff Newman. Played on the National as usual.

Nice job, Mike. What are you using for the backing track?

Glad you enjoyed the Jeff Newman video that I have on YouTube.
This has become sort of my signature song for the past several years.
You did a great job on this.

I too would be curious about your backing track. I would love to have a copy of that track.

Regards,
Bill

Thank you both for your comments, and Bill, keep posting. I watch all those vids of yours and that's where I learned and got my inspiration from. It is a great platform for learning licks and tricks although a lot is done on pedal steel

My challenge is to play these either C6 or E13 tuning on my National D8 console. For the backing I used Band in a Box 2017. The guitar solo and the fiddle generated by B in a B. I used the C6 neck on this one.

Bill if you pm me with an email address I will gladly send you a copy.

Great playing Mick.

What amp are you playing through? Any pedals?

Just a great sound.

By pedals I assume you mean effects pedals. Just a small drop of compression from a Boss unit. I use the same amount as the Tele players use which is not much at all. It just evens out a little bit. From there to a Roland Cube 80 and line out to a small Peavey mixing desk and into Cubase on the computer.

I just love my National consoles and have 2 of them. This is a vid of me sitting in my shed, the 52 National (same guitar as used above) going straight in to my Cube 80 and everything just picked up by my mobile phone.
