I see that temperatures will be going into the teens this week in Nashville, so be sure to leave water running (not a drip, but a solid flow) so pipes don't freeze.

And take care of your pedal steel guitars! Particularly lacquer finished ones! A sudden change from cold (like in the trunk of your car overnight) to warm (a crowded bar) can craze the finish. Let your guitar warm up slowly!

We have winter here in the Virgin Islands, too! Tonight the temperatures are expected to plunge all the way to 72!

-4 This morning. I am glad we finished our last show for the year 2 weeks ago. Our first show for the New Year is January 11th. We are playing for the Michigan County Fair Board Convention in Grand Rapids, Michigan. About 200 miles north of home. More Snow and colder temps right off of Lake Michigan. Makes me thankful for inside gigs.

Yup, Living in Florida made sense to me, so I moved South in 1989.

You don't have to explain this one to me, Don.
I wished the winters were as cold and snowy as they used to be, here where I live. Rain on Christmas and New Year's Eve is no fun Sad

Wind chill factor here the last 3 nights minus 22.to 25. now wonder why i play out of tune all the time guys. Smile a few years ago we done a news years eve gig out side on the main street in town. was minus 10 that night. heaters all around the stage. didn,t really do much for us. i used my old sho-bud LDG for that gig. she performed like and old rugged tank for me. wish i still had her. i will not do out door gigs any more unless its july or augest .

Been waiting for you to chime in on this, Erv. I know it's been cold in Meeker County as well.

Thought that when I moved to Southern Colorado from the exurban Twin Cities I may have escaped the cold for good. Not so, as it was 38 below in Alamosa one morning about this time last year. Been fortunate so far this winter, as it's regularly been warming into the middle 50s during the day.

Happy New Year, and keep warm, everyone.

Jack,
I know you could relate to the weather up here on the tundra.
But I know how cold it can get in Colorado also.
I worked on the 1st two stages of Chatfield dam at Littleton and we were working when the temps got down to -12 degrees. We had to work 23 1/2 hrs a day just to keep the dirt from freezing up. Very Happy

Erv, I'm heading back to AZ tomorrow, goodbye -30º and hello +70º's. I will not miss this snow and cold. I'll be the one at the SWSGA that looks like an ice cycle It'll take me two weeks just to thaw out.

I'll admit snow for Christmas and New Years is nice - makes things pretty and it's fun. But after that I would be just as happy with 70 degrees!

Have a happy 2018, Joachim! (my grandfather was born in Bochum Germany!)

Erv, I'll be a "wimp" all day long. I hate cold weather! However, it will be in the lower 20's and 30's this weekend! I hate it.

Erv, This is for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFkcAH-m9W0. "Highwayman". Your comment about dam building reminded me of Waylon's part.
Keep it warm!
