How would you compare the PF 350 to a JBL K120? I know the PF 350 is heavier and can handle a lot more power. So I'm really just asking about tone.

I haven't tried a JBL but just about every thing else. I have 1201-8's, 1501-4 peavey, 12 & 15 inch telonics, double TT & delta pro eminence. Nothing I have tried covers the full range of the guitar like the PF 350's. I play Little Walter 89 amp it's tone is the same at 1 as it is at 10 and the speaker handles the low volume just as well as wide open.

I bought a PF 350 to go with my recently acquired Dr. Z Surgical Steel amp. I had been using an old JBL D130F I had for a while, just until the 350 came in.
It turned out the JBL tone was sweeter, but I wasn't sure if it could handle the 90 watt amp, long term.
The PF 350 sounds pretty nice, though. |

| I have a PF350 in a 1x12 cabinet, been breaking it in and trying with different amps, and just discovered how great it sounds with my Bassman-70 head. Huge, full-range, sweet and powerful. May have to get another, a 2x12 under that Bassman would be the ticket. |

Billy, I saw the youtube video of the speaker that Paul so graciously demonstrated and I was impressed with how clean the highs were without being brittle. The lows were deep and the mids were so smooth.
I would rate it a 10 plus.

I seen the video too. I play through a Nashville 112, but it has 4 ohm, so I can't use it in it. The PF-350 is an 8 ohm. I don't know how it would be in my Katana 100. Waiting for some more information on it, here on the forum.

Hey Jim,
You could use the PF speaker in the 112 without any issues. You can use an 8 ohm load on the power amp, you just can't go down to below a 4 ohm load. No harm going with higher impedance speakers. You may lose a little power with the 8 ohm load, but it should be fairly insignificant..

| Why did they not use a neo magnet? For better sound, higher output? What do you sacrifice going with a lightweight speaker. I am interested in this speaker if I can decide to deal with the weight vs. the Travis Toy lightweight speaker. |

+1 for what Jeremy said.
I put an 8 ohm JBL E series in my Nashville 112, and it sounded fantastic. I didn't notice any drop off in the volume. I did notice it got heavier. |
