Topic: Two questions pedal and cordless setup |

One of my friends has a cordless guitar set up that I used on my steel guitar,the sending unit plugged into my volume pedal and the recieving unit into the amp sounded great and didnt have a long cable in the chain, has anyone else tried this?
Also was looking for a reverb and delay unit not sure which brand to go with I have checked out earthquaker devices and Strymon, does anyone use keely caverns? |

Seems far more practical for guitar than for an instrument that sets on the floor and that you sit behind on a seat to play. Doubt you'd need one on an electric keyboard for the same reason.
I sometimes use one for a harp mic, however, and it's awesome. |

| You are probably right, I guess my thought was getting that cord out of the chain might give a better signal but there might not be anything to that theory either. |

I like to keep things simple.
A modulator, a transmitter, a receiver, a demodulator, and in all likelihood, an A/D conversion at one end and a D/A conversion at the other, seems unnecessarily complex. And a mess of needless batteries.
Is it a bad idea? Naah.
I would happily call it a silly allocation of resources.

A cord is normally a better transmitter than a wireless. It's a direct connection not subject to interference - and there are both good and horrid wireless units.
I can't see single advantage to "wireless" for a seated player.

| well to start off with i would say that it sounds like some just don't like change. and some are very sceptical.(spelling) i bought one of these deals off of american musical supply its got a rechargable battery with a coard to charge both at the same time that last for about 6 to 8 hours. i have used this on the regular 6 string electric guitar and it works fine. i also plugged it into my volume pedal on my steel and it worked fine there as well. and it was only $50 thats not a bad price. the batery should hold enough charge for one night and i see nothing wrong with it and everything sounds good too. try it you might like it |

I dont think I would go out of my way for cordless but I had the opportunity to try it and it worked great, so out of curiosity I wandered if it was something some were doing.  |
