I bought a new Session 400 in 1974, first year they were introduced. Over the years and especially now that I'm old, I wished that Peavey would put the Session 400 Preamp into a rack mount chassis to lighten my load and have it setting next to me on stage in a rack. As in 1974, I would order one before it was available in stores. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Boss 59 Fender pedal for preamp, NDR-5 Atlantic Delay & Reverb, two Quilter 201 amps, 2- 12" Eminence EPS-12C speakers, ShoBud Pedal, 1949 Epiphone D-8. Dennis, I am pretty sure the Walker Stereo Steel is based on the Session 400 preamp. The SS preamp only model could be exactly what you are looking for. _________________ Tom Dillon

Telonics looks to be similar also. I'm looking at the 1000 Preamp, but it's likely very expensive. Frequency specs per control knob would be good to look at to compare the two. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Boss 59 Fender pedal for preamp, NDR-5 Atlantic Delay & Reverb, two Quilter 201 amps, 2- 12" Eminence EPS-12C speakers, ShoBud Pedal, 1949 Epiphone D-8.
