When learning to play the guitar in the 70s I always loved the tone of Carlos Santana. Here is an arrangement for C6 lap Steel guitar of Europa.....Santana at his melodic best. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for sharing that, Mike. I've thought that a number of Santana pieces would go well on steel, but I'm not yet at a skill level to attempt it. -David |

Thank you david and Bob. I was thinking maybe I should have recorded it with more of the Santana tone......I was trying to keep it more of a traditional lap steel tone. |

I'd like to hear it with more overdrive, but playing-wise, you nailed it!
How do you like the RI Epi? I'm looking for a cheapish guitar for C6. The CC pickup has to make a big difference. |

Paul, After I recorded it I also thought the same. But I wasn't going to record it all again !!!
The little Epiphone I think is a fine guitar but in my opinion you should budget to change the pickup. Not really sure why Epiphone did use put a better pickup as it probably would not have added much to the cost. The CC pickup is a massive improvement but to be honest I think any aftermarket pickup would be! |
