A project never completed.
The good...From the 1950's the steel sounds great and is all original, including the tuning pans covers and pickup covers that are often misplaced(not shown in photo, the clear ones)and case.
The not so good...tuning buttons are deteriorating (replacements included),it has been refinished, and the case has a musky old smell. $525 plus shipping.

I once had a case with a musky smell. I parked it outside on a hot non rainy day, and the smell went away.

I wish I could afford this. I started on a National triple 8, and later was able to get a D8. No longer have them, but they are really cool guitars. You can replace the buttons on the tuning keys. I did it with the D8 I had.

Beautiful guitar! I've got a 1949 that belonged to Tom Brumley. Mine doesn't have legs either. I typically just sit it on a drum stool and it seems to work pretty good. Those nationals must be one of the most beautiful double neck Steel's ever made. I actually don't mind that musty old smell on guitar cases and amps, makes it all seem so much more mysterious. Maybe I'm nuts though. Good luck with sale.

Electronics work good, pickups sound great! The cord, with the amphenol connector looks like it might be original and has been spliced. It works, but I would want a newer version if I was going to a gig. Thanks

From the photos, it looks like the refinish was to the cream sides of the guitar, but not the sort-of green metallic sections - would that be correct?

Thanks,

Myles

Just install the pre-drilled buttons on to the tuner shafts.
