Been lurking in the forum, not a player but going to learn. I just acquired this 3-pedal steel from a friend, don't know anything about it. Can anyone identify it or tell me anything about it? Thanks much.

From your pictures it almost looks like a home made one. Need to see the bottom side.

Looks like you have a knee lever, too.
Does it raise or lower any strings?

John, I’ve one similar, in a lot of respects...no evidence of the maker? I believe it to be a “kit guitar”? Very similar to a Maverick in a lot of ways?

Pat, it does have one knee lever, and it lowers a string. I just got it yesterday, it's been in storage for years. The strings are very rusty, and I don't think the pedals and knee lever are operating fully, one pedal seems to raise a half step. It does have some issues, tuners missing, etc. Hoping I can get it in good enough condition to learn some and play with it at home. The pickup is good, very strong and doesn't seem to have any grounding issues.

Edward, I've found no evidence of the maker, however, in the first pic I posted you can see what looks like a spot where a decal was removed.

I really appreciate everyone's input.

Looks like a Market Rite mark 1 kit guitar. I think they sold these in the 1970s.
