I had to do it. Buddy Emmons is so inspirational. He played this number on E9 pedal but as usual I decided to play it on my National C6 lap steel. There is a fast run he does in this but that is beyond me so I popped in a replacement phrase. _________________ ShoBud 6139, Remington Steelmaster D8, National D8 Console x 2, George Boards Lap Steel, National New Yorker. |

Ditto on Doug's comments. I've been working more on that number using Bb13th tuning. You inspired me to practice a lot more. |

Sorry Doug. The credit has to go to Buddy Emmons. All I did was near enough copy what Buddy did and played them on lap steel - except for one passage which can be difficult to play smoothly - unless you are Buddy of course. In one spot I substituted a couple of double stops for single notes. As always the test would be if I could achieve the same result using his ideas in a totally different song - or better still find my own licks. _________________ ShoBud 6139, Remington Steelmaster D8, National D8 Console x 2, George Boards Lap Steel, National New Yorker. |
