I had to do it. Buddy Emmons is so inspirational. He played this number on E9 pedal but as usual I decided to play it on my National C6 lap steel. There is a fast run he does in this but that is beyond me so I popped in a replacement phrase.

Great job, Mick! I really like the tone you're getting. Nice picking, interesting improv ideas, good intonation. It's all there.

Ditto on Doug's comments. I've been working more on that number using Bb13th tuning. You inspired me to practice a lot more.

Sorry Doug. The credit has to go to Buddy Emmons. All I did was near enough copy what Buddy did and played them on lap steel - except for one passage which can be difficult to play smoothly - unless you are Buddy of course. In one spot I substituted a couple of double stops for single notes. As always the test would be if I could achieve the same result using his ideas in a totally different song - or better still find my own licks.
