Emmons, double 10 in fantastic condition with case. Serial number 1124 D. I originally thought this to be a 1966 model but I know believe it's a 67. This guitar sounds as good as it looks. I'll be happy to send more photos. $6500.00.

I have 1128 D, a rosewood '67 cut-tail. A great sounding guitar. A great guitar period!

right...you can't ... they were sold, sometimes taken back in trades, shipped out again under different invoice number, parts would be ordered, stored and the used whenever they were needed... etc etc ... unless you are the first, original buyer, and you were there when they were putting your guitar together, you wont know 100% if your guitar is '66 or '67 .... you can go by Carter's list, as I do, because it will get you in a general time period, but like I said, unless you bought it new, you wont know for sure... its not like it really matters anyway ...

i seen pictures of this guitar, very beautiful instrument.
its a 67 . rosewood, decal, very clean, and no patten number on the end of changer (which started in 69 or 70 ). they didn't make any cut tails in 1966 so this is at the earliest a 67. |

| FWIW. Emmons did not use the XXXX-D style serial #'s till late 67.Even though Emmons used invoice #'s from mid 65 till late 67. The vast majority of the 66-67 invoice numbered guitars had the invoice # on the end plate. I'm not sure about the 65's. So I'll reserve comment. Feel sure most were. But Herb Steiner, and several others are more qualified to address that. |

I have 1066D - 1967 Black Bolt on. Incredible guitar.

Bob, I've found it to be pretty accurate after 68. Carters numbers for 66's and 67 are a joke. Just one example. One of my dad's guitars, a 67, purchased 5/7/67 by him. Is invoice 2547. Carter shows 2547 to be a 1978.  I could go on. But I'll stop here.

I know the list isn’t 100% accurate but is does say it has to have a D after it to be that year. It touches briefly on the invoice numbers.

right, 2547D would be 1978... that "D" is very important... one time I was selling guitar, and forgot "D" , and was called out by the "forum police" and told I was trying to scam people ... some guys just go out and play and enjoy their guitars, and some spend time sitting in their bedroom researching serial numbers...

When it comes to knowing Emmons serial #'s for 64 thru 67. Tommy's is one of the most knowledgeable, members that will still post here. I don't think it's hurt his playing all that much. Really, knowledge is not such a bad thing. |
