Looks like his most recent post was October 12.

That is worrisome.

The guy I've been wondering about is Donny Hinson. He hasn't posted anything in a long time.

Lane contributed to one of my Facebook threads today.

I'm betting this is a busy time for him and his day job.

As per the reports above, a quick FB search shows him to be alive and active.

I'd guess that's the job he has that pays for the musician job...

I recently changed jobs to one with a wonky schedule, and was finding it difficult to make time to forum (and I was spending a lot of time pontificating on politics).

I think I'll spend more time here and less on politics.

Lane, politics is like steel guitar - a little reverb is great, but too much, and it just becomes an echo-chamber! You ended up in a very strange echo-chamber....

I've done my share of political discussion and then some. I can't recall a single person I convinced to switch and join "my side", nor did any of them show me the error of my ways and persuade me to join them. (Altho while there are vocal arguments for and against, I find a lot of agreement that ALL politicians are a bunch of bozos regardless of which side of the aisle they are - throw ALL the bums out!!!)

So talking steel guitar seems to result in a lower average blood pressure - usually! Laughing

That is actually how I got back into practicing again. I was laid up for 6 months over the summer, couldn't leave the house, couldn't really leave the couch. Had to use a walker everywhere. so for one month I sat there all day long and watched cable news. My blood pressure went up so high I finally had my wife bring my dobro up from the basement, and I started practicing 10 hours a day instead. Smile

I'm convinced a cousin of mine has the right idea. Term limits for all politicians, no matter the party affiliation. Two terms--1st term in office, 2nd term in jail.

Welcome back! I have missed your knowledge and expertise (and cranky sense of humour). This is the real world!
