Found an interesting article, based on a study for the Ohio State University. I am absolutely no expert on the new musical trends of today but haven't we all noticed that the percentage of instrumental parts of a song (Intro, Solo, Outro) has dramatically decreased in the past years? The instrumental background of a song seems to become more and more unimportant to the average listener. Hard times for musicians!

Here's the article:

Kind Regards, Walter

I agree, they either talk over the intro, or cut the end off.

Ha..totally agree. I recall recently listing to Brad Paisley Mud on the Tires on the radio , the entire song is a front for the guitar solo at the end, clearly where the song is headed.A build up to a great dramatic solo and ending. What did the DJ do ? he cut off the solo before it started and went on to some other nonsense. I was like...
"Dude. do you have any idea what you just did to everyone listening " ?

I laughed and just turned off the radio before the guy played another song.
