A mechanic noticed his co-worker drinking brake fluid at lunch.

“What are you doing, man? You can’t drink that stuff!”

“Relax,” replied his co-worker, “this stuff tastes pretty good, and I don’t drink it all the time.”

“Seriously,” the mechanic exclaimed, “that brake fluid is poison!”

“Hey man,” yelled the co-worker. “Back off! I can stop anytime I want.”

Me I drank laquer one time because it looked like apple juice. Glad I hadn't swallowed it and spit it out Whoa!

Yes Don, this would have hurt severely. That's how it went: I was at a guy's workshop who was an instrument builder. I was trying to make acoustic guitars and I needed his advice from time to time. This meant that in order to get it, he wanted to sell some woods to me. He never offered me anything to drink and when he left the room for a phone call or something, I grabbed the chance to drink from a bottle with an apple juice label that was standing there. It was shellac mixed with isopropyl alcohol. It looked very similar.

Glad you were OK, Joachim, but I think you might have missed what I was aiming for in that post. "Finished" as in the finish on a piece of wood?

(OK, I won't rely on comedy for my next meal!

If it's any consolation Don, I laughed out loud.

Well, that's reassuring, Brian. If nobody laughed it would be a stain on my reputation! Wink

A question for Don:
In which McCartney song does he mention the expression eggshell finish?
