Below is something Ricky Davis posted in another thread that I thought was worth reposting in case you didn't happen to read that particular topic. It took me a while and since there's lots of bar and pedal movement going on together I still don't have it down smoothly yet---good luck---J

"Ok I was at Lloyd's house playing his LDG one time..and he said: "Ok Ricky; play all the solo moves of together again, without using strings 3 and 5 at all"....I was like; ok no prob. Well it was a HUGE prob..ha. until he sat down and played it flawlessly on just strings 4 and 6, using the B and C pedals."

Jay,

I read the post you are referring to. I've been practicing Together Again with just BC and strings 4 & 6. It is a challenge. Maybe I'll perfect it someday. For now, it's nowhere near ready for prime time. However, it is good exercise!

To be honest I don't recall ever going back to the original Buck/Tom recording of this song. I learned this tune while I was taking lessons from Teddy Lloyd at Metro Music in Richmond in 1974. The version I learned has a whole lot more movement going on than the version Bob posted all those years ago. There is quite a bit of my bar gradually decending a whole step with pedal C is raising string 4 a whole step going on at the same time in the version I learned which makes it a challenge to play smoothly.
