Here is an arrangement of the subject song from the Movie of the same name. It's a challenge to capture the drama of this music so I did it in somber fashion as a solo.
I admire the composer who wrote this. Hope it is of interest to some of the non country folk.
That's the target.

Nice one Roy. Was that a string pull or slant towards the end?

Hi Mick,
No slants or string pulls. I think what you are referring to is a tip bar at fret 1 on string 1 with strings 2 an 3 sustaining (open) I slide the bar to fret 3 while that is happening. The tip bar chord is F major.
Hope that explains it for you?

Very Nice Roy!! Tasteful and excellently stated melodic lines. I used to play that song at the Cafe de L'est in Montreal back years ago with a show band as an "d'ouverture du spectacle.".... Grew to have a soft spot for it. One of my favourites.

For Resonator fans this is the same song played in E Major
E-B-G#-E-B-E. Same key as the C6 clip above. This will work also for the players with the D Major tuning (down a full tone)

Roy, very nice! I admire your ability to let a note sustain and have its complete due. I heard an uptempo surf version Exodus a while back that was very surprising.

One of the most beautiful melodies ever, composed by Ernest Gold. Pat Boone wrote lyrics appropriate to the film, and the song is entitled "This Land Is Mine."

You play it well, thanks. Smile
