I'm posting some links to performances from my group's appearance at Sweet Sounds Downtown, a jazz festival held in Westfield, NJ. A big thanks to Craig Stock for putting in a good word for us and making it possible. We had a blast.

Glad I was there last night to hear Mike and his excellent band: Matt King on keyboards, Andrew Hall on bass, and Diego Voglino on drums. Well done!

Great to meet you, Ralph. Glad you could make it.

This was a fun gig (as they all should be!). Not trying to blow anyone's mind, just trying to make people feel good.

This is great hearing the tunes live. Very fine sound on the band, and the steel as well.

Sounds great, as always, Mike.

I was hoping to make it over to see you, but I've been sick as a dog.

Ever think of doing a double bill down in this area with Jim Cohen? I bet you guys could possibly even share a band. We both know some amazing players in the area. Just a thought.

PS.....maybe I missed it, but have you published any transcriptions of your Monk stuff?

Really nice, Mike! Remembering our late friend Steinar's motto, "Play to express, not to impress" you mange to express AND impress in a relaxed and natural way. Cool tone too.

Tuesday, October 10 was the centennial of Monk’s birh.

His influence on me has been profound, and so has the influence of all the steel guitar greats. I’ve already begun arranging for my next recording, which I hope to do in 2018 or ‘19. Someday I will record Son of Steelonious, but I have other plans.

This is some fine music. I can't add much more, other than I had to download the album. Its going to be on the car system a lot.

Thank you, David, I hope you enjoy it. It does sound nice on a good car stereo. I have a Bose system and it kicks butt.

The playing is outstanding (as the whole Steelonius project). The whole combo is highly enjoyable. Thank you again for sharing this fine music!

Thank you! We've got a really solid band, and I just wish we were able to play together more frequently. We have fun and tend to wing it quite a bit, but it gets tighter and more fun each time we do.
