Tom Palmer's son, Franklin, and daughter Danielle, just reported on facebook that their Dad, Tom, of D2F covers, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday at his desk. I'm sure many of us have purchased Tom's covers for our steels, amps, volume pedals, etc. Tom always put out a quality product and was a great person. Rest in peace, my friend, you will be sorely missed in the steel community.

Here's a photo of Tom...

May I offer my deepest sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad. Every time I called and ordered a cover he always went the extra mile to be sure that I received exactly what I wanted. It was always a pleasure to talk with him. He will be greatly missed by our steel guitar community. His D2F covers and leg bags were always of the utmost quality and fit. Tom always followed up with a call a week later to make sure my order fit correctly. He was a caring businessman and a true gentleman.

Tom called me 2 hours before he passed, I was not able to talk as I was setting up for a gig, Patti took the call and I returned it today, only to hear the sad news What a shocker.

Tom was a giver, if more people lived as Tom did the world would be a much nicer place.

I will miss you old friend.

Tom and I have been friends since he started d2F Covers, although we rarely saw and spoke to each other. I last saw and spoke with Tom at this years TSGJ in Irving. Kind human being that I really liked. Condolences to his family. RIP Tom my friend.

If I'm not mistaken , didn't his wife,Jan, pass away less than a year ago? That could have put a strain on Tom.

I never met him but have a good number of his D2F covers and leg bags here in Beijing, the USA and in Thailand. His products were quite attractive and meant to last a long time . Condolences to his children and other family members. Steve t

I'm stunned. Tom called after the TSGA show to tell me how much he missed getting to see me. He had been caring for his wife for several years and didn't get to shows. After he lost her last year he went to TSGA this March. I didn't go this year and he wanted to see how I was doing. Tom was a friend from the first time we met and was a true Christian gentleman. I will sure miss our visits.

I will surely miss my friend, Tom. He lost his wife just months ago after years of Devote care for her in her progressing illness. I just talked to him about 3 weeks ago and he was looking forward to playing out again and wery optimistic about life.

Very sad news. Tom was a good friend and skilled craftsman. The last time I talked to him, he said he might
expand his business to making covers for other instruments such as keyboards, accordions, and microphones.
Anyone who ever spoke with him had a friend for life.

Condolences to the family and RIP Tom.
