Looking good. The gold looked like nasty nicotine stain. As Roger wrote. What were they thinking. |
Thanks! The gold is much worse in person LOL _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Hey Dave! Good to hear from ya man. Yeah its a lot of work but will be well worth it in the end. Right now I am in the process of stripping all that dang gold off the parts. It's a process _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

I know mike, isn't it crazy. I literally didn't know it was green till I pulled apart. I was too focused on the ugly gold end plates lol... _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

LOL,
Ok, so the body is at Southbound Custom right now and I expect it to be done in 3 weeks. I did email Steven this morning to see if he had some progress photos for me to post, we'll see if he has time to snap a few.
The aluminum will be hitting the polisher next week as I am in DC all week this week.
I am in the middle of pulling each bellcrank apart, polishing and reassembling them. This guitar will be better than new once she is done, or at least that is my goal.
The pickups will be Chrome BL705s _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

That will be awesome! A blue lacquer wood-neck Emmons with original BL 705s? What could be better or sound better than that?
When you get it all together, you must do a video so we all can hear how it sounds in addition to how spectacular it looks!
Anxiously Waiting...

I left the swivels in the bellcranks and hit them w/ my buffing wheel. They spun like crazy and it sounded like a dental drill. It took about 10 sec per bellcrank and they positively shined like jewels afterwards. I didn't bother to polish the rest of the cranks otherwise. |

I did the same thing after polishing out the bell crank itself. I figured why not take a little extra time while waiting on the finish. Emmons playing in the back ground while I work! _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Thanks Billy,
I know for sure I'll need help when she goes back together. I'm hoping to lean on you and Lynn and your expertise and maybe a few parts that are undoubtedly missing.
Thanks again billy _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Here is a little test flocking. Still wet so the excess will come off after she dries up. Navy blue for the Blue Burst I will get back on the body...
Materials came from here: http://www.flockit.com/

Mike,
OK...it's been long enough. Where is the body of the guitar? You should have had it painted and returned by now.
I can't stand the suspense any longer! Please give us a full report on the project.
Thanks,
Don |
