I use a '76 Session 400, a Quilter Steelaire and a Line 6 Spider Valve 212 Tube Amp. 'Nuff said about the beauty of the Session 400 and Steelaire. They are wonderful amps. The Line 6 is a sleeper. |

Way to go Carl. The Encore 65 is a hidden gem👠Very Fender with two 6L6 power tubes and 3 12AX7 preamp tubes. 😎 |

If it sounds good, I'll leave it on the truck for the upcoming season, and not have to worry about my '65 Princeton reverb disappearing

Tube
I use a home made single ended 6AV6 / 6L6 for most gigs.
I have the Ampeg Jet reissue for the loud gigs
... and I'm with b0b when it comes to volume... the small combo is my way of setting my boundaries in regards to volume. And believe me ;that little amp gets plenty loud! _________________ Visit my Studio: LimeStoneLabs at.. http://Facebook.com/LSlabs

It's a SAU-10...
I pretty much completely rewired it ,using the schematic ; I just used better wiring practice, like twisting the heaters tightly ,etc. I did change the coupling caps from .047uf to .025uf for tighter bass...Oh & a Mercury Magnetics output transformer.. : D This amp is so warm/dynamic sounding ,I much prefer It over the louder Ampeg. _________________ Visit my Studio: LimeStoneLabs at.. http://Facebook.com/LSlabs

I usually take one of the following setups out when I play. They are both hybrid setups.
Setup # 1
Emmons PP > Octal Tube Revelation with M One effect unit > Furlong 15" powered speaker cabinet with JBL K 130 speaker.
Setup # 2
Emmons PP > SMS Classic Tube Preamp & M One effect unit > two Furlong 12" powered cabinets with Travis Toy speakers
Both setups sound terrific.

Currently using a Musicman 65 non reverb through a Jensen neo 15-300. I've used solid state amps in the past, they all sounded good. I'm just in the mood for tubes at the moment. The musicman is a hybrid.... _________________ D.S. Rigsby |

Old solid state ShoBud amp. The reverb tank needs to be replaced. No complaints about the tone at all, great classic sounding amp. |

TUBE... for me nothing but... heavy, cranky, unreliable... but the midrange on a tube amp vs solid state.. not even close for my ears...
Luckily i don't consistently play with anything crazy loud so my 20 watt tub amp is normally plenty.... turned up to 7.. warm.. alive.. hairy... thats my jam personally. |
