This is a GREAT recording, one of my favorite releases of the year. If you don't have it, you should get it! _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Very Cool! Listening to some of the streamed tracks off Amazon now. Do you mind describing your rig and how you got that nice overdrive, Mike? Totally understand if it's secret though. _________________ Williams Guitar Purveyor, Owner of jeffsguitarandsteel.com |

I use a Fuzzface for some things but mostly a semi-cranked Fender Twin. I like my fuzz kind of clean, too. The only other pedals I used were a phase shifter and Rotary sim. No volume pedal, either. One Clinesmith aluminum S8 steel, C13 tuning. That's the whole shebang. Of course, we used an old Altec birdcage mic to record some of the tracks, too. _________________ http://www.steelinstruction.com/

Just ordered a t-shirt to accompany the CD I picked up when I met you at the PSG show in Norwalk a few weeks back.
Really great stuff, Mike. All the best to you. _________________ Sho~Bud Super Pro, Fender Concert, NV400, Orange, (LP's, Tele's, Gretsch, Burns, etc...) |

I love this album. While listening, I often think...if John Scofield took up lap steel, this is how he would want to sound.

Scofield is no doubt one of my heroes, probably my favorite guitarist. I've been following him since around '84. I'm sure he rubbed off on me more than a little! _________________ http://www.steelinstruction.com/

Testifying... great record! Not just great steel record, my wife keeps asking who it is incredible steel playing, can't believe it is all lap, no pedals. Nice job! |
