I did a search and can't find it anywhere. Someone had posted a long time ago, and thought I could pull it up, but to no avail.

John

I'd been remembering it wrongly! I thought the first two notes were C up to an F. I should have dug the CD out and listened - it's a half-tone slide from E up to F. AND I'd recalled it in a higher octave. That makes all the difference in the world - now it's simple!

I have a pretty decent version worked out on E9 but the timbre is all wrong.

Much appreciation to Frank, and to you for guiding me to the tab.

Roger--you have the CD of the Buddy Emmons black album?? i thought that was long unavailable. Have seen the occasional vinyl for sale at a greatly inflated price. Anyway I would love to have a copy of the Black Album on CD--let me know what i can do to help make that happen. Bake you a dozen cookies? Question

Ryan:

Yes, I do. I obtained it from Jim Aycoth at Emmons Guitar Co on a routine visit many years ago (2000-ish?) and, while I had the vinyl LP back in the '70s, that was when I was still at home in England. None of my LPs made the trip to the USA.

I hadn't realised that the CD was unavailable these days! I'd assumed it was. Who owns the master? Who is authorised to reissue it? If 'Suite Steel' and 'Pacific Steel Co' are deemed worthy of a new release then surely the Black Album is as well?

I'm hesitant to even consider duplicating my CD as there may still be a stock of them in someone's possession, someone who legitimately owns them and is entitled to sell them. Does Jim Palenscar have them, I wonder?

Perhaps this should be a new thread; then, perhaps, the position could be made more clear.
