Topic: Make backing track from wav file with BIAB |

Can anyone tell me how to make backing track with BIAB
from a WAV, WMA or MP3 file.
I've searched the internet and haven't found anything.
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi Carl. The way I do it is, first you have to do a search and down load a Audio Converter. The one I use is called Freemake and it is Free. Open up Freemake and simple pull up a file MP3 click on Wav then convert.Then go BIB look for the Wav file and open it up and Your done. Hope this work for you and hope your doing well. Billy

I have programs to convert anything to Wav or MP3.

Fail to see the need to convert the mp3 to wav as BIAB has a feature to let you import an mp3. Can be done either by clicking on File, then Open Audio or by clicking on Audio, then clicking on Import Audio.
Either one will put the audio mp3 in BIAB and let it play. It won't put the chords in like a BIAB file tho'.

Hi Graham, what I'd like to do is make a track from an MP3 file.
I don't know if it's possible to do that with BIAB. I'd like to try.
If you know how to do it, I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

What Robert posted but keep in mind that the Audio Chord Wizard is really not that accurate. Will get you in the ball park tho'.
Click on File, then either "Open Audio w/chords" or Launch Audio Wizard. Then you just pick the mp3 you want to use and see what happens. When it is finished and you send the chords to BIAB, you will have to mute the audio file and enable the style.

Thanks for all the info. I guess I didn't fully explain what
I'm trying do do well enough. I've been trying for hours in
my spare time to make a backing track from a song I got on
YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZr4A0fbzPk
I extracted the audio and converted it to a wav file and loaded
it into BIAB 10. It loaded and showed the chords and played ok
but, I can't figure out how to make a backing track from it.
I'm just an old man, not too smart and need some help. Thanks
for any more info you may be able to share to help me do this.

All I want to do is make a backing track so I can play it as an instrumental.
I extracted the audio and changed it to a WAV file and loaded it into BIAB 10.
It loaded and showed the chords and played ok but, I can't figure out how to
make a backing track from it, and remove the original music from it.
I know this can be done, but I don't know the last steps to finish it.......Carl

You need to enable/select a style so that you can hear the the song for the chords as generated by BIAB. Also mute the Audio channel so you don't hear the WAV file.
I suggest _PNOC128.sty for this song.

Hey guys, thanks for all your help. I got made my first backing track.
I tried to do another one " The Box it Came in" by Wanda Jackson that
only has 4 chords and BIAB shows about 15 chords that I don't know
which ones to to change to what. I never even heard half of them.

Carl,
Chord recognization is not something that BIAB does well. You should be able to hear the chord changes and program the song on your own. The first song you mentioned would seem to be very easy. If you know the Nashville number system, you can type in the numbers and BIAB will know which chord it is, based on the key you have it set to. You can then change the key to whatever you want. Watch my BIAB Made Easy videos on YouTube and it will show you how.
