hey formites,

Recently ive been thinking about adding a couple raise helper springs on my fessy for the a and c pedals. i had it adjusted by mr cooper but still would like those pedals as light as my GFI. Any Ideas? I dont quite undetand how to go about insalling them. Fessys do have a hole on the raise finger where i could put one end of the spring... but where does the other end attach to? the bellcrank itself or a bracket? id like to not do any alterations besides adding the spring if its possible. Or Maybe just a bellcrank style change?

thanks
is there a way to add them without drilling into the guitar? Is drilling into the guitar as dangerous as it sounds? haha has anyone installed them on an all-pull guitar? and are they very effective? Its set for the lightest throws as possible now.

Daniel, the deck of a steel can certainly take the holes.
I think I have a spare Sho-Bud helper spring bracket sitting around I can send you

It's too long a story to explain what it was I was experimenting with or why but...

I tried out a helper spring rig on my Fess SD-12 and found that it is such a fine line between power-assisting the pulltrain and interfering with proper return that I ditched the idea.

I would also call Jerry Fessenden on this. He would be all too ready to properly advise you. There may be an adjustment to be made to negate a helper spring.

Thanks fellas.
I have done all possible adjustments to get the lightest acion. took it to billy cooper he said its as light as itll get. Lane Id like the bracket if you still have it or want to sell it. Ill call jerry on the idea cleaned and oiled my crosshaft to front apron connections. helped alittle. but def no smooth gfi to the floor feeling. Thanks Fellas.
