Post by james sluder »

My audio song's & tune's is distorted on almost all song's.. the singer voice is really low & the insturment's are drowning the vocal out,,i first noticed it on u-tube. It show's Realtek is controlling this. In a auto-windows update Realtek was installed. That's when my problem started !

I have vista windows 8 .

Thank's in advance for any help !

What is the brand and model of the PC? I do a lot of support in the audio section of the Windows 7 and Windows 8 forums. But, without knowing what you have I can't really offer anything substantive.

That has RealTek Win 7 drivers. The Windows update drivers are not always the latest or even best. You can roll back the drivers to the earlier version. In the Device Manager, access the RealTek sound entry and display its properties. In the Properties, click on the Driver Tab and then click the "Rollback Driver" button.

If that doesn't work, I would try the drivers from the RealTek site as they have drivers for Windows 8.1. There have been a few problems reported with sound that worked on Win 8 but did not work correctly in 8.1 unless Windows 8.1 specific drivers were installed.

I had a toshiba lap top that was nothing but trouble. Audio problems that I couldn't clear, lots of bloatware that I had to remove, and it went through 3 power supplies. I found toshiba support to be horrible. If you google the problem I am sure you will find lots of people with the same problem, but no solution from toshiba. My advice, get a different computer.

Youtube uses the Flash player. That has know to cause many problems. Reinstall the Flash Player with the latest version and see if it helps.

Since other sound apparently works OK, its not really a problem with the PC sound card or drivers.

Here is the link. CAUTION, uncheck the center section that has optional downloads (google chrome browser and google chrome toolbar). Also, during the install look at each step closely so you don't get some added crap installed. You just want the Flash Player only.

No you don't have to uninstall the existing chrome. But, since you have it uncheck the boxes as you don't need to install them.

Have you tried a headset to see if you get the same thing?

Also, check the RealTek HD Audio Manager and make sure there are no sound effects enabled.

Jack you nailed it in your last one !

I have always used a headphone set running into my 4 track cassette recorder to record song's on. So i unplugged the head phones from the computer & went to u-tube , clicked on a Hag, song the ones that was giving me the most problem's and the play GREAT,,even the ones in my song's folder. After playing a few i plugged the head phone's back in & now everything is GREAT.

Im really glad you came up with that idea,i was ready to scrap this thing !

What ever i owe you send me a postal address & i'll send you a postal money order !

Thank you so much for all your help !
