my latest build. why nine?? well why not? really i found that using an E66 pickup and spacing the strings at standard 3/8ths wide lap steel spacing, nine strings fit perfect so nine it was. nice to have an extra string of your choice added to an 8 string tuning. body is birdseye maple with some nice figure in it. wood is 35+ years old!! body/neck is ONE PIECE. the fretboard is machined out of the body so there is no glued on board. extends all the way to the bridge for the nicest sustain. sealed tuners. 24" scale. real fretwire for the markers using three different sizes for better visuals. larger wire down towards the nut and a bit smaller up the neck. 500k audio vol and 250K audio taper tone controls. .02 cap. switchcraft grade jack. i used a take out george L E66 for the pickup. sanded and buffed the top. looks nice and sounds nice. i have recorded a little sample of the guitar. C6 tuning. wonderful sustain and hand built. its about 33" long and maybe 6+" wide. sealed machine heads mount into a "ledge" so that the least amount of wood has to be removed from the neck. strong design and no flexing. finish is polycrylic. easy to maintain and simple to touch up/repair. price is $495 and worth it!! trades considered. paypal fine...we can split the fee.

Nice looking steel here, Bill. I sent you a Pm and email, and am curious if the nut and saddle are slotted for specific string gauges? Thanks! |

no. i like to wait and see what the buyer wants gauge wise. you can slot just enough to hold the string down for demo and testing and then wait to cut the depth later. you buy it..i will get you to send me a set of strings and then slot it for you. no charge. thanks |
