I've been using a couple of Franklin pedals for years and they have worked great, but I think its time to move on. I was wondering what is the volume pedal of choice today? Thank's guys! |

The Franklins were wonderful, quality and beauty. The problem today with all pedals that use a "Potentiometer" is that the quality of these "Pots" are declining rapidly with the future looking bad for them even being produced at all, soon.
Most players that work steel for a living are now using "pot-less" pedals. Goodrich or Hilton. I feel that this is where the future is going, and fast.
The "pot-less" pedals have no strings to give trouble or adjust, no "pots" to wear out, they have adjustible taper and tone controls and are wonderfully priced so as to be a great value compared to the pot pedals, (if you figure in maintanence).

Not to detract from anything that worked in the past....but isn't technology wonderful?

Eddie,
I got my Hilton from Bobbe, sure glad I did. It's one more item to plug in, but worth the minimal hassle. Smooth operation, no change in tone at any volume, easily adjusted for point of zero volume, and no pot to ever replace. Consider it!

Just bought a Hilton last week from Jerry Roller who sells the Hilton volume pedals among other items. Great pedal...should have retired the 'pot' pedal before now!

..I use a Hilton...could have bought 2 or 3 of them with the money I spent messing aroung with pot pedals..
..great product, great service from Keith Hilton (not that it needs much), but he's also easily reachable to answer any questions.. |
