I've gotten a few different answers on this in the past and I'd like to find out for sure what MSA I have. It was damaged in a flood, lost the decals, therefore the model. It's refinished and plays fine - but I don't remember the name on the front. The SN is 2C5991.
Anybody ?

Is it lacquer or mica? Does it have a double or triple raise changer? Does the neck extend all the way to the pickup well or is the pickup surrounded by aluminum? Is the fretboard silkscreened, or is it an external piece fastened to the beck?

Either send Kyle Bennett a message or wait til he sees this. MSA has GREAT communications, and they have retained almost all of their records. Kyle will know (or have access to) model, original configuration, birthdate and original owner. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Yes thank you very much Kyle.
Mine was natural maple, clear finish. The finish got beat up as it was in a flood in about 1986 or so. Lost the decals and the silkscreen frets. Got a crack which I repaired. I took it all apart, cleaned and polished it, had it professionally painted, and reassembled it. It's a great guitar I think.
It's mercedes maroon now. I wish it was black. _________________ MSA Classic D-10 XL 8 & 4 August, 1976
