Saw this at Gryphon in Palo Alto the other day. Didn't have time to plug it in but it sure is unique and striking for looks alone.

My fave part of this steel is the 1/4 round bridge, an early and simple design but very effective unless sitting on top of thick MOTS. |

A few years ago I had and later sold (not because I didn't like it) the red version. Magnatones seem to consistently have very clear, open and vibrant pickups/tone, and this one was no exception. _________________ Al

Well, wish me luck. I just bought this wacky guitar.
Over the years I've been lucky to own and play an Asher, Rickenbacher, Fender, Gibson and assorted other electric steels. I sold 'em all and have been playing only acoustic for the last few years. For some reason I don't understand, this relatively cheap, not highly coveted little guitar speaks to me. When it arrives and I plug it in, I hope it won't say "What the hell were you thinking?" _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

You should love it, Andy. This was my first lap steel, bought with a matching amplifier (also in bowling ball blue). _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Andy, was that the one for a really good price shipping from Washington state?
If so, I tried it and it was sweet. |

Arrived today! A really cool, quality guitar with an equally nice (odorless!) case. The pickup has a rich, dynamic open sound with a bit of bloom to the attack on single notes. All-in-all a nicer old step than I expected. Remember when America built products with pride?
