I would like to thank all the people that ordered my
Book Nashville Steeler. One guy complained that I did not put enough Steel Players in it. I have known most all the famous Steel Players and I would not dare write about there antics nor would they permit me to do so.

Mr. Davis -

Perhaps you could change a couple of names here and there and tell a couple of stories that didn't make it into your book. Regards, FF.

Don I understand.

During my career I collected enough material to write a book, but found that there were numerous lawyers waiting to sue for invasion of privacy.

So, like my former acquaintances from those years, I will go to my grave in silence. Rolling Eyes

I understand because I have grandchildren too!

Don, thank you for the book. And I am proud to have your first DALAND in my collection. I think the Forum would appreciate your sharing those two unreleased recordings you did with Hank Garland.

I was asked to write a review of this book for our local Musician's Union's quarterly magazine, which I was happy to do because I really enjoyed reading it. They asked for a very short piece but I was able to convince them that the book deserved more, and they published most of the much longer piece I sent them. For reasons of space the parts I wrote towards the end about the chapters on A.P. Carter, Johnny Cash and Waylon got edited out, as did my mention of the great contribution Ruth B. White made in pulling the stories together.

Thanks for a great book, Don, and for all the great records you played on!

If anyone's interested, here's a link to the magazine online; the review is on pages 22-23 if you scroll down.
