1959 D'Angelico, often called the G7 model, but officially these were just called "electrics". John D'Angelico made electrics like this, using a laminated body made by United (or Code). This one has original and desirable features such as the aluminum stairstep truss rod cover, and Excel type tailpiece, both of which are original to this guitar. Two original Fransche/Franz pickups. The neck pickup is really amazing sounding on this. The hole from the infamous "penny-hook" has been plugged. (DA used a rather cheap eye-hook from a hardware store in place of a strap button on all of his guitars.) No other strap button has been attached. The bridge, selector knob, and pick guard are not original. (the pictured bride is not currently one this guitar. there is now a rosewood bridge) $6000 (cleared...after shipping and fees) with OHSC, which is a faux aligator Lifton. There is some of the usual binding rot, there always is on these, but it is fairly stable. Feel free to contact me for more info and photos if you are interested in purchasing this unique and rare guitar. ***Neck shape is similar to a large 50s Gibson "D" shape.***
This is crazy flamey.
