Since the Encore is made by Doug, I'd look for them on the Stage One site.
I guess Doug is busy making the guitars, since
http://stageonesteelguitars.com/ doesn't mention the Encore yet.
I imagine it's coming

Yes, there will be information on my website about the Encore. The whole site needs to be reworked so it's a bit of a project.

"Zum Encore" would make a good name for a German pub.

I lacquered the underside of yours this evening Roger. Emmylou and Spyboy were the featured act. It was right at the verge of live volume in a small venue. I feel good about it.

I just wondered how the ZUM ENCORE guitars were doing these days? Are they standing up to expectations now that they will have been well tried? I have not seen one on U tube yet? It would be nice to here one . JAMES TAYLOR Smile Smile Smile

You mean 'hear' one? Smile

Mine's just great, James, and I've done nine three-hour gigs on the original set of strings!

The steel really sings through my new Roland Cube 80XL, too, and and it holds its tuning and it sustains for ever.

These are great guitars and I'm enjoying the Encore every bit as much as I do my two Emmons. If there was a D-10 Encore I'd be in line for one...

James, it is most regrettable that thou art so " far away "
those of us in the know, have chosen said brands & models for their reliability, quality & bang for $ £ €
if you can try to get together w: some steelers in the UK ( i know you're a member of the BSS) or even better go to a steel convention in the good Ol' ( St Louis, Dallas, Phoenix ) & try the different brands & models, you will be most convinced rather than taking "our word" for it
as for the ZumSteel Encore i got for a client here, it not only plays great , it sounds real good
GL Eon pick up on it
yes, one can choose the PU he wants
yes, he's keeping his Encore & his wife does'nt want a divorce ( lol )

Thank you Roger and Crowbear for your very welcome input as I do value what you both have said; and those with an earlier input too. Strangely in the british steelies forum they have had a major clean up of members and unfortunately it seems for some reason I am not now a member. However I do prefer this forum so I shant cry over it. It would be nice to see the great names in steel guitars and guitarists but unfortunately I am not as young as I used to be and both my wife and myself have disibilities therefore it is extremely difficult for me to travel a great distance ; this is why I find this particular forum so very helpful. If it was not for the kindness of so very many people like yourselves on this splendid forum ,set up by B0B who was himself a tremendous help , I would have remained very ignorant on this wonderful instrument. I am not religious but I am sure you will all understand when I say GOD BLESS YOU ALL. Smile Smile Smile JAMES TAYLOR

HiFolks, Can I just add a big thank you to you all for your patience too. I am continually asking about guitars that I have little knowledge about so that I can narrow it down to one and ZUM is at the top of the new list as far as I can see.I just have to eliminate a few second hand models first. My days of GIGGING are long gone and it would only be for self satisfaction and interest. Smile Smile Smile JAMES TAYLOR

You're welcome, James.

You couldn't do better than a new Encore - it comes with three pedals and five 'knees' standard - that's plenty for anyone to make music for ever. It's a thoroughly professional-grade guitar yet extremely reasonably priced.

I don't know what shipping to the UK would be but if Doug were to ship using USPS it would be very inexpensive. The guitar itself (at today's exchange rate) would be around £1,000 - amazing!

This is a great guitar. After Braydon got his I had to order one for myself. No frills, just great feel and tone. Braydon loves his "Encore".

Hi Jerry and Roger, Thank you both and Braydon looks a real adept at that complex machinery and I'd guess a whole lot better than me!!! However, I am waiting to see what this economic genius of a Chancelor is going to do in his budget; hoping for a reduction in VAT!!! I am forever hopeful! Keep your comments flowing as they are like a breath of FRESH AIR! I don't know what shipping company is usedfor the ENCORE but USPS sounds interesting and there will be the collection from the landing base. Someone did mention a company that pays all the tax and delivers to home for a very small fee. Therefore, that may well be the route to go . YOURS AYE JAMES TAYLOR Smile Smile Smile

the George L's Eon is a double coil PU James
the single coil that is usually used is the Wallace True Tone
which imo is an excellent PU
otherwise the standard PU on the Encore is the Zum Stage One PU ( double coil)

don't expect VAT to go down - that rarely happens
unless the UK pulls out of the EEC............. lmao

all the Zums that i have gotten from Doug were shipped via Postal to Europa
cheapest & reliable w: a tracking number
( USPS NOT UPS )

Jerry, seeing Braydon behind the steel makes me feel optimistic about the future of the instrument. He's got a great steel. Thanks!

The Wallace TT in my Encore is so impressive I'm wondering what one would sound like on the E9 neck of my Emmons LeGrande. Does anyone have any idea about that as a match?

Easily the cheapest shipping costs to the UK (and probably Europe, too) is with United Staes Post Office (as I stated above). The fly in the ointment is the limit on insured value that is offered. A $500 limit as I recall, but costs are about 25% of what the other big carriers charge.

IT would be nice to hear Braydon on his new steel and show up all the PROS Jerry. Infact it would probably be the first recording on the FORUM of this guitar. Does "Postal to Europe" deliver to your home CrowBear, after customs that is? Roger ,can you tell me if the "United States Post Office " delivers right to your door ? Yes, they do, but the package gets handed over to the Royal Mail at some point whereupon the US tracking number is no longer effective.

I've shipped several 6-string guitars to Europe with USPS and I've had no problems.
