Yes.....the weekend long (Fri & Sat) Non Pedal Room (The Rick Alexander Non Pedal Sessions) in Dallas will be streamed live this year!!!
This past week I set up my equipment and made a test broadcast. It worked out well and I'm pleased with both the audio & video quality. I still have some learnin' to do but I'm coming around that curve ....
So, for those of you who cannot attend, whether you live 8 miles away or 8000 miles away, you can join us for our annual weekend celebrating the roots of steel guitar and it's music.
We still have some things to work out and more information forthcoming......so please stay tuned.... |

Bobby,....it's always a gracious pleasure to see you....
I always remember my first Dallas show because of you.....it was 2002 and I was a little skittish about hopping on a plane from NY to go to a place where I didn't know anybody other than some words on a screen and a 1/2" picture.......heck, I didn't even play pedal steel....just dobro & lap steel......I remember walking into the big room, kind of just slinking my way around the back when I hear....."HowardR, from New York!".....and the next thing I know I'm getting a big Texas bear hug & a howdy.....(the first thing I thought was "wow, they're really very friendly here but I hope this fellow isn't expecting an engagement ring.. ) But seriously, Bobby made me feel so welcome and comfortable that my skittishness went right out the window and I felt like I was a part of a huge family (which is pretty much that way)....I've been attending this show every year since then and whenever I first walk into the big room I always think of and look for Bobby......love ya' my friend..... |

For the first time ever we will be webcasting the entire weekend Non Pedal Sessions from Dallas on March 8 & 9.....from 10am-6pm........to my knowledge this is a first event in the the steel guitar world.....and we're happy to bring the roots of steel guitar world wide.....from New Jersey to New Zealand......
Here's who you'll be able to see in real time concert:
Billy Robinson, Carco Clave, Doug Jernigan, Herb Steiner, Mike Neer, Rose Sinclair, Tony Locke, Jim Evans, Dewitt "Scotty" Scott, Chuck Lettes, Mark Roeder & Kristy Larson, Albert Talley, Dan Tyack, Ivan Reddington, Bob Blair, The Cajun Boys, Carroll Benoit & Friends with Eddie Ortego.....and of course there will be more. Every year we also have an All Star Band with three steel players, vocalists, and other solo players to be announced......
For the entire weekend of viewing this fantastic line up, we ask for a suggested minimum donation of $30 USD....and here's how this will work.....
Please send me an email through the Steel Guitar Forum (no PMs please) with your full name and where you are from.....I will then send you the paypal information to make your donation.....prior to the show I will email you your password to log on for the entire weekend show.
Thank you......

Hello from Mr. and Mrs. Boards
We signed up for the web cast , and are planning on viewing it in the Mezzanine Lobby on our lap top
The show will be a few steps away in the RA Non Pedal Session room.
The price is right , the performers are among the best (and worst in my case - )
What a Great Opportunity to watch this show from the comfort of your home computer area. |
