My dad Mike Hall of Ashland Ky passed away Saturday Jan. 26 2013 at 2:10 am at the Community Hospice Center in Ashland Ky. He will be greatly missed by his family and also by any of his Steel family that he had the honor of playing with. Among the few he admired most was Billy Robinson, Doug Jernigan and Paul Franklin. He was friends with Billy and Doug and took a class from Paul way back in the 80's and was one of the highlights of his Steel career! Thanks to all his friends for all the great times you guys shared, that was a huge part of his life and we will all miss that about him.

My condolences to you and your family, Joe. I did not know your dad but I do know that losing your dad is rough. Mine departed this life over 33 years ago and I still miss him.

Mike and a few friends showed up at my gig a couple of times. I enjoyed knowing him and I'm very sorry to know he has passed. My condolences Joe..

Sincere condolences, Joe. I'm glad your dad received such fulfillment from the steel guitar community during his life. I didn't know Mike, but it sounds like he loved the steel and got to learn from some of the best.

He sure did and thanks to you all! We had his service today and I want to thanks all the local guys who came to pay their respects! Was a great service and he would have really been proud of the turn out. And Ron he finally was able to get his dream guitar a few years back and it is a Lashley LeGrande II also! He was so proud of this guitar and as long as I am alive it will never be sold! Will go in my closet with his 1962 Fender Jazz bass and his 1962 Fender Super twin Reverb and Session 400! Who knows? Maybe one day I will arrive on the Steel scene!

Oh! That is nice! Hope you get the itch and learn to pick it a little someday, Joe.
