I agree with everything that has been said about this great PSG. I've owned a SD10 Expo for six months and love it.
However, because of my age (80+) and the inability to flex my left ankle like I used to, I'm having trouble with the A & B pedals. So, I'm thinking of changing the Emmons set-up to the Day. But then this presents another problem. I would want to reverse the LKL and LKR levers. I think by making both changes, it should resolve my problem. Please, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?
Also, I want to add a V lever. Does anyone know where can I get the correct kit to do this?
Thanks, Fred |

Hi Fred, anyone who is a GFI dealer should be able to ship you out an LKV kit. I amd having Al Brisco from Ontario Steel Guitars of Canada install mine for me since he has it ( my GFI ultra) at the moment. If you can find anyone close to you, I am sure he would ship one to you.

Thanks Quentin, good to be back in the club. As I stated earlier in the post, I owned a gfi and regretted selling it. These guitars just fit me to a "T".. |

Hey GFI players,
My s-10 econo pro, 3 pedals, 4 knees, emmons setup, arrived fri. eve at 6:56 by ups in perfect condition, survived the 105 degree heat. It is called an economy pro, forerunner to the ultra but the quality is the same as all gfi guitars. The bellcranks are more like the msa style, really positive. 3 raise and 2 lower stainless steel changer.

I been a GFI guy for 20 yrs. pound for pound there is not a finer guitar out there IMO. I have 3 right now 2 S-10s and a dbl 10 keyless...These are road guitars, and they fly, and take a beating.
GFI customer service is unmatched... Gene and Bob take care of every customer, and I have never heard 1 complaint.

I own a GFI ultra s-10 ultra and want to put a 5 v lever on it but I need a diagram or instructions as to where and how. GFI factory has no instruction sheet..
If any one has any info or pics they could e-mail me it would help a lot. Thanks, Tom

Tom, have you checked this image? (From the GFI website.)
Pretty much identical to how vertical is mounted and rodded on an S10.
With a few pointers added...

|

I just bought a used GFI Ultra D-10 from a forum member and I couldn't be happier with it and the transaction as well. I am guessing it will give me everything I will ever need and then some from a pedal steel guitar for the rest of my life. Thanks Gene Fields for a great modern instrument with classic tone. |

Take lots of measuremetns and make sure everything is lined up before you drill holes. |

I heard that. Nothing worse than a bunch of empty holes here and there. I'm wondering if its worth the trouble. |

Bob at GFI informed me that there are no instructions with the kit. I have decided to leave my s-10 as a 3&4. Too much trouble to add the 5th lever.. I had a lot of good e-mail from the forum and thanks to every one of you. I can use the advice in the future. Tom |

How is that "unmatched customer service"?
IMO, all PSGs should be pre-drilled for a vertical lever, and a kit without instructions is not a kit at all. |
