I have just put back together a Sho-Bud Professional. (This one has had the rear neck removed). The problem is when I press a pedal to raise a string the lower pulls with it, when I use a kneelever to lower there is a grating noise and the changer will not return. I've cleaned all the parts, lubricated them, tried a different set of springs, but no joy. I've had many Sho-Buds in the past, done a lot of work on them but never had a problem like this before, I'd appreciate any help or suggestions, I'm getting desperate.
Cheers
Dave

Something is binding, maybe a raise or lower arm is bent, or you might have a string end stuck in there. Remove the string, return spring, and any rods working that string. Work the raise and lower arms by hand and you should be able to figure it out.

Dave, I've probably been to London 20 times (though not recently), and it's always fun noticing the subtle nuances in the different ways the British and Americans use the English language. Best to you.
