Andy Iona Long (Carefree)
Roland Peachey (Tiger Rag)
Harry Brooker (all his work with Felix Mendelsons Hawaiian Seranaders)
Jules Ah See (Sand)
Billy Hew Len (One of Hawaii's best)
Barney Isaacs Jr (another one of Hawaii's best)
Rudy Wairatta (Incredibly Fast)
George De Fretes (with The Royal Hawaiian Minstrels)
Herbie Remington (Remington Ride,clever open string work)
ZEROS
Don't be afraid to say ! it's only one persons opinion

Overall perfection....Jerry Byrd! My hero now for more years than I care to try and remember. The guy that played steel for Porter Wagoner, the one with the A pedal E9th, hotlick. Not trying to put the man down but it was sad, sad, sad. He could have done all of his pedal work with a little bar technique and sounded better.
Okay. Keoki....Let's hear what you think from up there by the north pole and all. Eh? |

| Ah gee, fellas....I hate to critisize anyone's work. The very nature of the 'beast' we play is the fact we all get different sounds from it which cannot be said about many other instruments. But my favourites MUST include Dick McIntire along with those of Basils. Also, for the sake of something different, (like it or not), the 'Steel Guitar Rag' by Roy Smeck gathers a lot of brownie points in my book. |
