Does any of you own a Marrs PSG? In the early 80's saw Ron Jewett playing one on Charlie Louvin's show, Thought it sounded
really nice but didn't bother to get a closer look. Just wondered if any of you
had ever owned one, and if so how did you
like it? Seems that Jimmy C. Newman's band
had one that same day. Was this a product of
Danny Marrs or something altogether different? TJH |

| Duanne Marrs worked for Sho-Bud for 14 1/2 years. He now converts old model Sho-Buds with Marrs mechanics. They play like butter. He has a body reinforcer that practically eliminates all cabinet drop in old Sho-Buds. Jeff Suratt of The Wilkersons is his chief mechanic. His Marrs steels were great guitars. I have a "Marrs" S-10 on a Double frame.
He made this axe for me about 1981-2.
This Axe is a solid wood,birdseye with a large amount of inlaid stuff. Only once since then have I had to do any kind of repair on it. I had a pull lever replaced due to slippin' on the crossrod. I must admit this problem was of MY doings. I over-tightened a set-screw and stripped threads in the unit. Durane replaced the piece for me and didn't want to charge for it. As I felt the Axe was more tham past the warrenty period, I insisted to pay for the repair. He then give me a cost (in my opnion) far below the actually going rate for his services.
I can and will recommend the "Marrs" to all that even think they wish to have him build an instrument for them. A true professional and a great person to know.

| I had one of these jewels in my possession in the early 80s. SD-10, 3 X 5, with a 5 position George L PU. Sounded and played great! I have also played the Marrs you spoke about Harold Fogle owning, steeler for Jimmy C. Great guitars! Jim Ed's steeler had one too. |

| The Marrs guitars are one of the best kept secrets in the steel guitar world. Duane doesn't have a website and just now got a computer he plays Solitaire on! He couldn't be in it for the money but he builds guitars good as anyone. Funny they're like the Franklins in that you never see one for sale on the forum or at least hardly ever. |

| Jim, Duanne and Jeff install an angle iron body reinforcer on all his Sho-Bud conversions. It runs the length of the body under the guitar and really helps stabilize the guitar compared to original Sho-Bud mechanics. Ingenious. |

I owned A D-10 Marrs 8-6. The best playing all pull guitar I've ever owned. Wished I had kept that guitar.
