Good Morning,
I need some help this week - here's a clip from 1955. I think we all know who the player is on this one. However, the track is included in one of the Bear Family box sets and the session information lists a different steel player who's sound was always totally different. I would bet a lot of money that the information is wrong. What do you think?

Enjoy the music!

Paul, maybe switch to a different browser.Sometimes IE will block a URL where Firefox will not.Firewalls play a part in this too, disable it until you connect then re-enable it,just M2CW.Sometimes it's your ISP being overloaded, many things but those are the most common. |

Paul,
I don't think it is a website problem. Just checked the link from the original post and it worked fine.

I right clicked on the CLIP OF THE WEEK and selected OPEN and got it !! That is certainly Don Helms but who do the Bear folks say it is ?? And I could not even venture as guess as to who the singer might be...everyone wanted to sound like Don's boss back then !!

Paul,I believe that is one of my old bossmen singing...Ray Price!
He WAS chasing the Hank thing, like so many did in those days...kinda like 20 years later, when everybody was trying to sound like Hag... |

Steve...I recall reading somewhere that Hank even let Ray wear some of his stage outfits. That's what friends are for and BTW...good to see you in these parts ! I've missed a lot with a computer crash...

Yes, it is. Session information lists Jimmy Day as the player but for me that is plain wrong. Jimmy did record with Marvin, for example on "Gonna Find Me A Bluebird", but this must be Don Helms...
