I used Ping guitar tuners on my P/P. They were guitar tuners and I had to buy 4 packs for the 20 tuners I needed to replace. The only weird thing about the tuners is the string mounts from the end of the shaft instead of the side. The up side is that the ends of the string won't scratch the peghead formica with this setup.

Steel Guitar Nashville, SPERZAL tuners. The only way to fly.

Thanks,

I would recommend Gotoh brand kluson replacements. They are near perfect copies of the small button klusons & with a small mod wil fit perfectly. Beats drilling out your keyhead for another brand.
All thats needed is to enlarge the 2 screw mounting holes on each tuner plate with a drill & youre ready to go.
Im having a keyhead repaired that had been altered to fit another brand. My machinist asked me to never bring a job like that to him again
The Gotohs ae avaiable from Stewart MacDonald & are reasonably priced.
If you need help ordering, feel free to email me.

If your resources are unlimited, the Waverly 4060's from Stew Mac should install easily.

They have a 16 to 1 ratio.

Unfortunately 20 of them will cost you $466.40

Mike, is it possible or practical to rework the Kluson's that came with my Emmons? They are very stiff.
