While I was in Nashville last week I visited Duanne Marr's Sho-Bud restoration and retrofit shop in Madison. I saw several old Sho-Buds in the process of restoration and retrofit. One in particular was having a total new body reconstructed. I watched Duanne do the routing and inlay work. Facinating. Duanne also retrofits new mechanics into old Sho-Buds. Heavy duty Marrs triple raise, triple lower changers with all new cross rods underneath. Lloyd Green's guitar was restored in this shop by Jeff Suratt and Duanne. Duanne and Jeff have been commisioned by Junior Brown to construct the next generation "Guit Steel" with pedals. Duanne worked at Sho-Bud for over 14 years and has extensive Sho-Bud knowledge. I watched them work on a 1961 permanent while I was there.
Duannes labor is surprisingly affordable. His retrofits make Sho-Buds play like a Zum. My original Pro-II looked like it came out of the box after it was disassembled, metal polished and reassembled.
He offers complete Sho-Bud repair. He will have a web site up shortly. His phone number is Marrs Music 615-868-5344.

Kevin,
One thing that needs mentioning here about Lloyd's L.D.G.
Yes he had Duane work on it but it is still all original with all Sho-Bud parts on it and under it.
I know it's none of my buisness but I don't think people should get the idea that Lloyd's playing a hybrid guitar. It is still a Sho-Bud.
BTW, As soon as I get that photo downloaded I'll e-mail it to you. Mike

Mike, you are absolutely correct. It was restored in its original state.

Duane Marrs is also a great Steel Player.
I had the pleasure to work with Duane at Music City Mfg from 73-76. He got me the job and I will always remember the good old Sho-Bud days in Nashville.
Thanks Duane.
