OK Guys I know there were many many great players at this years show but for us who didn't get to go, was there any steel guitars at the booths that really impressed anyone???
ps. I know probably all did but any especially catch your attention?

Joe Wright and David Wright in the Sierra room. Standing room only and man they did have that place rocking!!! It was one of those deals where you just couldnt walk away. FANTASTIC!!

Rick, it was great to meet you in Dallas.
Jim, I have to tell this story;
One unexpected guest at the Dallas show was Al Brisco at the Carter booth. Al's unassuming nature, combined with the fact that he's from Canada, belies the fact that he's been heard playing with everyone from Pure Prairie League to Bob Dylan...
Two fellows from the Texas/Oklahoma area sat bug-eyed in the Carter room watching Al spin webs on the steel, until one of them finally said "I don't know who that guy is, but I think he has great potential! "
I'm still laughing over that one...

Hal Rugg and Joe Wright in the Peavey booth on Sunday. Wow!
Hal Rugg is one of my favorite players, and Joe Wright is a monster (and lives just down the road).
Hal's style is so dense and classy, especially his E9 playing. I learned a ton just watching him up close.
I wish Hal had a video or printed instructional stuff, everyone from Tommy White to Bruce Bouton covers his licks in their videos.
Onstage Joe Wright sticks to his show most of the time, but in an informal clinic he is a great improv player in any style.
These guys don't play any bum notes! Not a one!
