It is with great regret to say my good friend James Burrus passed way early this morning. He was 86 years of age and married to Jean for 64 years. He leaves behind a son and two daughters, several grandchildren and two great grandchildren. I met Jim a few years ago and made instant friends with him. Jim was one of those guys who would go to the Texas steel show, get a front row seat and stay there. He loved the steel guitar so much and especially when they played old country. He played for many years and enjoyed playing. Jim will be missed greatly by his family and friends. I have missed the phone calls when we visited two, three and even four times a week. Rest in peace my friend and may heaven give you the very best steel guitar there has ever been. I bet you are playing it right now.

Jim was laid to rest this morning. A nice service was held and the gravesite was impressive. Two Navy personnell folded the flag and another played Taps in the background. I have so many great memories of Jim and certainly will miss him. He has a great family who I am sure was very proud of him.
